Marsh announced that it has established a captive insurance management and advisory facility in Copenhagen to serve the Nordic region. Lars Andersen has joined Marsh to lead its Captive Solutions Practice in the region, focusing on Denmark, Norway and Finland.
Andersen was previously managing director of Aon’s captive management firm in Denmark. He is an experienced risk executive and is a past chairman of DARIM, the Danish Risk Managers Association. He will report to Claude Weber, Head of Marsh’s Captive Solutions in Luxembourg.
Weber noted that the establishment of the new facility was in response to the expressed needs of the firm’s clients, who are looking for enhanced risk management solutions.
Marsh said it “plans to expand its Nordic regional captive operations beyond Copenhagen and expects to begin that expansion with the opening of a dedicated captive management office in Sweden by year-end. The firm’s regional captive team will be supported by Marsh’s Captive Solutions Practice globally and the firm’s existing network of insurance brokerage and risk consulting operations in major cities throughout the Nordic region, as well as world-wide.”
