General Dynamics Employee Charged with Making Threats against Co-Workers

Police say an employee of a Connecticut company that builds submarines for the U.S. Navy has been charged with making a “credible threat” against the lives of specific co-workers.

Police say 39-year-old Edward Lesniak, of Coventry, Rhode Island, is charged with first-degree threatening and breach of peace for making the alleged threat last week against workers at Groton-based General Dynamics Electric Boat.

He was arrested at a New York airport on Saturday as he returned to the U.S. from overseas.

Police seized several weapons from his home, including a .50 caliber rifle, a shotgun and multiple handguns.

Authorities did not release details of the threat.

He is being held on $200,000 bond.

The case wasn’t listed in court records and it’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
