Drivers can travel a little bit faster on the Maine Turnpike.
Starting today, the speed limit on much of the Interstate 95 toll highway is will go up to 70 mph. The previous limit was 65 mph.
The Maine Turnpike Authority said it will begin replacing the roughly 100 signs starting 5 a.m. on Monday.
The speed limit will remain 65 mph south of Kittery. It’s being raised from 50 mph to 60 mph on the Falmouth Spur and from 55 mph to 60 mph between Scarborough and Falmouth.
In May, the state boosted the limit from 55 mph to 60 mph and 65 mph to 70 mph on rural sections of I-295 and I-95.
