Thieves Steal Hundreds of Ears of Corn From Connecticut Farms

Police say thieves have made off with hundreds of ears of corn from two farms in Connecticut.

WTNH-TV reports that workers at Green Acres Farm in Bristol went to pick corn to sell at a market Sunday and discovered that the stalks had been all but picked clean.

Sales manager Whit Betts estimates thieves took a few hundred ears of corn at a value of $1,200. He says only underdeveloped ears were left behind, and that those are too small to sell.

Police reported another farm was hit last month. They said about 153 ears of corn were stolen from Anderson Farm Field in Wethersfield.

A father and son have been charged in that case.
