Investigators have ruled out lightning as a possible cause of a fire that caused more than half a million dollars damage to a former furniture plant in Martinsville, Va.
Martinsville fire marshal Ted Anderson says all other possible causes are still on the table.
Anderson tells The Martinsville Bulletin that the March 3 fire at the former American of Martinsville plant caused an estimated $516,800 worth of damage.
Anderson says metal and bricks recovered from the site will be recycled.
The property’s owner, Robin Hiatt of Stuart, declined to comment.
