New York is receiving more than $75 million in federal transportation funds for road safety projects around the state.
The money will pay for 33 projects. They include work to widen roads, install turn lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes and traffic-calming technology like rumble strips.
The largest single project is a $7.8 million plan to reconfigure a .7 mile segment of Route 5S in Utica.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the projects on Tuesday.
