Monmouth County’s Superstorm Sandy fraud task force has closed its office in the county’s Bayshore region.
In the year since opening, the New Jersey task force has reviewed 232 cases. About 92 cases were referred to the county’s consumer affairs department, resulting in savings or refunds of approximately $235,000.
Seven of 10 cases that resulted in criminal charges have been resolved.
People can still report complaints by calling the task force hotline at 855-SANDY 39.
