New Hampshire Ranks Just Below Average on Disaster Prep

New Hampshire health officials say the state is improving its ability to protect people during disasters, but it could be doing more to prepare.

The state Department of Health and Human Services recently released national rankings that cover more than 100 measures of disaster preparedness related to public health. New Hampshire’s overall score was 7.1 on a 10-point scale, just below the national average of 7.2

Areas where New Hampshire ranked just below the national average include monitoring illness and coordinating responses among various partners. It scored slightly above average on communication with the public.
