Jury Rejects Lawsuit in Stabbing at New Jersey McDonald’s

Jurors have found the owner of a McDonald’s restaurant in northern New Jersey not liable for a stabbing that left a man partially paralyzed.

Corey Jenkins claimed security was inadequate at the restaurant in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Paterson.

Jenkins claimed the restaurant should have kept security guards on duty after 4 a.m. when he was stabbed during a fight with a man who said he noticed Jenkins eyeing his girlfriend.

The restaurant owner claimed safety measures were adequate and Jenkins was the aggressor who caused the fight.

The man who stabbed him pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

The Record newspaper reports Jenkins and his attorney declined comment, except to say they would not appeal the verdict.
