Settlement to Give Virginia Boy $10.5M Over Lifetime

A Chesapeake, Va., boy who was burned when he swung a cable into a power line will receive an estimated $10.5 million over his lifetime from a settlement.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that the settlement will pay for Logan Fray’s ongoing medical care. It also will enable his family to send him to a baseball camp for kids with special needs.

Fray’s family sued several companies after he was injured in March 2010 while playing in his backyard. The lawsuit alleged that national electrical codes were violated.

The settlement involves a successor company to the defunct Hampton Roads Choice, Dominion Virginia Power and Atrex Inc.
