Former disco star Gloria Gaynor is going to court over what she claims is faulty work by a contractor.
The singer of the disco anthem “I Will Survive” filed suit earlier this month in state Superior Court in Somerset County. Gaynor claims the contractor replaced a second-floor concrete deck at a cost of about $38,000 but that the deck soon began to leak into the home.
The lawsuit claims that after efforts to fix the problem failed, a new contractor inspected the work and estimated it would cost $120,000 to replace the deck.
Gannett New Jersey reports the lawsuit alleges breach of contract and breach of warranty and also charges the contractor with not being registered as a home improvement contractor and not having the proper building permits.
