New York authorities say they’ve charged an employee of a Hudson Valley watch outlet store with stealing more than 800 watches worth nearly $250,000.
Police in the Orange County town of Woodbury tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that 23-year-old Daryn Bleach of Goshen was arrested after the manager of the Time Factory Outlet at the Woodbury Common shopping center reported on Friday that 850 watches had been stolen.
Police say Bleach cut the store’s alarm wires, staged the scene to make it look like a burglary and stole the watches. Officials say all the watches, worth a total of $245,000, were recovered.
Bleach was released from the county jail after posting $1,500 bail on felony grand larceny and burglary charges. It couldn’t be determined if he had a lawyer.
