Delaware Workers’ Comp Panel Continues Work

A state panel looking at soaring workers compensation rates in Delaware is considering whether injured workers should be paid total disability benefits for 90 days even if they can perform light duty in the workplace.

The proposal is one of several recommendations being considered by the Delaware Workers Compensation Task Force.

The draft recommendation on allowing 90 days of total disability benefits for workers who can perform light duty is the subject of ongoing discussions among some members of the task force, which met Friday.

The task force, which first met in February and is headed by Lt. Gov. Matt Denn, was established by the General Assembly to address a 26 percent increase in average workers compensation rates over the last two years.
