A lawsuit filed this week says Bridgeport state Rep. Christina Ayala was intoxicated when she got into a minor car accident and fled the scene last August, but her father denies the allegation.
The driver of the other car, Krystal Velez, sued Ayala and her father in Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday. Velez says she suffered a concussion and back injuries in the accident and has nearly $11,000 in medical bills.
Velez alleges the accident was the direct result of Ayala’s intoxication.
But Ayala’s father, Alberto Ayala, told the Connecticut Post that his daughter hadn’t been drinking.
Christina Ayala was charged with evading responsibility and other crimes in connection with the accident. A woman who answered her phone Tuesday said she wasn’t there, and her lawyer declined to comment.
