Rick Hoagland has been named vice president of GEICO’s Buffalo regional office with responsibilities for New Jersey and the Northeast. Prior to the announcement, he served as vice president of GEICO claims operations at the company’s corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md.
“Rick has done a phenomenal job leading claims home office, and his years of experience in claims and underwriting have prepared him well for this next step,” said Tony Nicely, GEICO chairman and chief executive officer. “His breadth of experience makes him an ideal choice to lead our Buffalo regional office.”
Hoagland joined GEICO in 1994 as a telephone claims representative in the company’s Fredericksburg, Va., office before being promoted to manager in 2002. He then completed the executive assistant program and became director of claims home office systems. Hoagland moved to GEICO’s regional headquarters in San Diego in 2007 to serve as director of liability claims. He was elected assistant vice president of Midwest claims in 2009, and assistant vice president of underwriting there in 2010, prior to heading claims home office in 2012.
Hoagland succeeds Seth Ingall who was named a senior vice president.
