The insurance company, Geico Corp., has announced plans to hire 800 people for its Buffalo, N.Y., office in 2013.
The Washington, D.C.-based insurer currently employs about 2,400 people at its service center in the suburb of Getzville.
Company officials said Friday that the new hires will be for a variety of positions, including sales and customer service.
Geico opened the western New York service center in 2005.
