PATH Service Resumes Between Hoboken and Manhattan

PATH service has resumed at the Hoboken station for the first time since Superstorm Sandy.

Trains between Hoboken and the 33rd Street station in Manhattan will initially will run daily in both directions from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m.

With this latest service restoration following Superstorm Sandy, travelers now can access the entire PATH system between New Jersey and New York. The return of Hoboken service provides more than 29,000 commuters with restored mass transit between Hoboken and Midtown Manhattan.

Sandy flooded PATH tunnels with up to eight feet of water and destroyed critical signal and switching systems.

Officials say the return of limited 24-hour PATH service is expected in time for New Year’s Eve.
