New Hampshire Fish and Game officials are offering free snowmobile safety classes at locations around the state.
The daylong class is required for all snowmobile riders who don’t have a valid driver’s license.
Officials say those under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a licensed adult when operating a snowmobile, unless they are on their own property.
Many of the volunteer instructors are members of the more than 100 snowmobile clubs in New Hampshire.
Club members work with the Bureau of Trails staff and Fish and Game to help maintain the state’s 7,000 miles of snowmobile trails.
Fish and Game officials say that more than 2,500 snowmobilers take the safety class each year.
