National Grid says around 25,000 homes and businesses remain without power in Rhode Island, and they’re aiming to have everyone back online by Friday night.
Utility spokesman David Graves says almost all of northern Rhode Island has power, and they hope to finish restoring power there and in Aquidneck Island by Thursday.
The southern part of the state around Westerly, Charlestown, South Kingstown and Narragansett was hit harder by superstorm Sandy.
Graves says additional crews are being moved into those areas. He also says they’re getting 150 workers from Massachusetts.
He asks that if people notice their neighbors have power and they don’t, they should call National Grid because their individual service line is probably damaged.
