Investigators say a transformer fire caused by a sagging power line has left 16 people homeless at a Pittsburgh-area apartment complex.
Officials say everybody got out safely when the fire spread to the Oakdale Diamond complex in Oakdale, about 10 miles west of the city.
The problem occurred about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and caused a series of power surges in the building which, in turn, caused a series of fires.
Resident James Redding says, “Everything was blowing up, shaking, shattering and roaring.”
The American Red Cross is reportedly helping those who were left homeless.
