A four-year-old boy from North Thetford, Vt., has been taken into state custody after police say he was found in a car driven by a drunken driver.
Police say 37-year-old Amy Benicio’s blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit when she was pulled over on Route 5 in Bradford Saturday evening. She was charged with driving under the influence and reckless endangerment because the boy wasn’t secured in a child restraint system.
Benicio is due in court Aug. 29.
