Two Con Edison crews used a vacuum truck to help rescue a New York City worker who was buried alive when a construction trench caved in.
Con Ed says the accident happened Friday morning on East 122nd Street in Harlem.
A construction worker had fallen into a trench, and the Fire Department could not pull him out because he was buried in debris.
Con Ed workers used two trucks that are normally used to suck up dirt from manholes to clear the debris.
The worker was pulled from the trench and treated at a hospital.
