Massachusetts safety officials say they found no violations during an inspection at a ski resort where a teenager died after suffering a seizure and falling 30 feet from a ski lift.
The Worcester Telegram reports inspectors for the state Department of Public Safety visited Ski Ward in Shrewsbury last week after the death of 18-year-old John “Jack” Street.
Street, a senior at Nipmuc Regional High School, was at the resort on Jan. 5 with his school’s ski team when he apparently experienced a seizure and fell from the lift chair to the hard ground below.
A Massachusetts state spokesman says safety inspectors visited the ski area Thursday and made a preliminary finding of no violations. The inspection is not complete, however, until the final report is written.
