State police are giving $100,000 worth of stolen property back to the owners, just in time for Christmas.
Investigators tell the Wellsville Daily Reporter that the items include all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, tools and machinery that were stolen from hunting camps, businesses and garages in rural areas of western New York and Pennsylvania between September and earlier this month.
Three men from Allegany County, including a father and his adult son, have been charged with larceny and possession of stolen property.
Troopers say the thefts were in neighboring Allegany and Steuben counties in New York’s Southern Tier, and across the border in Pennsylvania.
Police say they’re returning the stolen property to owners this week.
