The family of a man who died outside of a nightclub in the District of Columbia after a physical encounter with several club employees has sued.
The $15 million lawsuit against several owners and employees of DC9 was filed in D.C. Superior Court on Friday by the family of Ali Ahmed Mohammed.
The Silver Spring man died last October. Authorities say he threw a brick through a window of the club after he was denied admission, and then was chased by several employees.
He died after a physical encounter.
Several employees were initially charged with murder in Mohammed’s death, though those charges were downgraded and ultimately dropped by prosecutors who said there was insufficient evidence to prove that Mohammed had been brutally beaten.
