State police say they’ve charged a Plum police officer with burglary, bribery and other crimes.
According to a release, 29-year-old James Scuffle filed a false insurance claim for the theft of his car, and during that investigation more information linked him to several other crimes.
Scuffle allegedly stole a motorcycle trailer and was seen in a neighborhood during the early morning pulling on car doors, police say.
Police also allege that Scuffle took several hundred dollars of crack cocaine from the Plum Police Department and used it to bribe a co-conspirator so she would not cooperate with investigators.
A phone call to a number listed under Scuffle’s name was not immediately returned. Online court records did not list an attorney for him.
