Fire officials say a suspected steam explosion in a factory furnace in Buffalo has injured four workers.
The Buffalo News reports that all four were burned in the blast around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Luvata Buffalo plant.
It wasn’t immediately clear how serious the injuries were.
Buffalo fire officials say one of the employees suffered physical trauma in what was believed to be a steam explosion in one of the furnaces. A fire department hazardous material team was on the scene.
The officials say the explosion caused an estimated $250,000 in damage in a building that once housed the American Brass Co. mill.
