The attorney for a Baltimore councilwoman says she will dismiss her libel and defamation suit against a blogger.
Councilwoman Belinda Conaway sued Examiner.com political blogger Adam Meister and his publisher for $21 million over a column that alleged she doesn’t live in the city.
Conaway’s lawyer, Thomas Maronick, said Monday that he would file for dismissal. Election records show a Baltimore address for Conaway, but tax records show she listed a Randallstown home as her primary residence.
Maronick says Conaway didn’t carefully read the form before she signed it and they did not have the original tax documents when the suit was filed. He says she is still working to correct records.
Meister says he is pleased to be able to express himself freely again.
