The Connecticut Insurance Department said it recovered $591,000 last quarter for insurance buyers who complained to the state about coverage and claims issues.
Department staff received 1,761 new complaints or inquiries from consumers in the second quarter, a slight uptick from the 1,600 it regularly receives in a quarter.
One-hundred eighty-three complaints resulted in recovery dollars to consumers. Accident and health lines accounted for about half of the recovery, or $309,387; Homeowners-related recoveries were $133,845, and auto was 17 percent or $99,238.
