New Hampshire investigators say a fire that heavily damaged one of the oldest homes in Lee was no accident.
In a news release Monday, the state Fire Marshal’s Office announced that deliberate burning was behind the three-alarm fire early Friday morning at the home on Wadleigh Falls Road.
According to Lee Police Chief Chet Murch, as reported Saturday by Foster’s Daily Democrat, the home had been vacant about a month and was about to be foreclosed upon.
Lee Fire Lt. Jim Davis told the newspaper the home was built in the early 1700s.
No one was injured in the fire.
