first of all, if you read the articles prior, you would have found one that said it was sad that someone’s live was lost… first of all, any life lost is a sad situation… it does not matter how… if in life, you always look at things the sad way, you’ll always look down and not up… i remember when my dad passed away, on the coffin it said going home. if he’s going home, he’ll have some fun and not in any pain or suffering… life is full of suprises and in bad times, we look at humor as a great medicine… sometimes in good memories…

remember the fines were fines and not costs of other things. i bet the company paid more than that to the person’s remaining family for the loss… was it a painful loss, why yes! can we laugh at how, why yes! i could add another joke or two, but i won’t.

If it is so appalling to you then why did you use “kitkat” in your name? Is that your attempt at humor? Are you too poking fun at the situation?
It is a sad situation, but as wudchuck says, humor is a good way to deal with grief.
So if you don’t want jokes made about your death, don’t fall into a chocolate vat, a beer barrel, don’t fall asleep in the lions’ cage at a zoo, …

If you’re reading this site you should know who’s paying survivor benefits. Their workmen’s compensation insurer.

There truly is humor in every tragic event. It’s hard to imagine how he got hit by a paddle as they’re on the inside of the vat. He had to be doing something he shouldn’t have been.

I’ve seen similar vats at the Hershey factory.

If you can’t laugh at things you have lost a great thing. My dad was killed while doing an inspection under a house. He was caught in the temple by a live electrical wire. He was rarely sick. Yes… the whole family laughes because his sudden death was a “shock” to everyone in the family…. Lighten up and laughe a little… it doen’t reduce tha level of caring, but it does make the good memories “sweeter”!
