Authorities say a construction worker has died after he was struck by a forklift at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.
Emergency workers were called to the school’s York Hill Campus at about Friday morning for the incident, in which a 58-year-old carpentry foreman was killed.
Police and his employer, Torrington-based O&G Industries Inc., identified him as John Borovicka of Vernon. He was pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Police say he was walking up an incline near the construction site of a dormitory when a co-worker operating the forklift backed into him.
Officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were called to the scene to help with the investigation.
