Fire department officials are investigating the cause of a three-alarm fire at a Norwich, Connecticut apartment complex that has left 17 people homeless.
Nobody was injured in Monday’s fire at Thamesview Apartments. Officials say 11 of the 12 units in the building were occupied, with the heaviest damage in the two center apartments. The city’s fire marshal is investigating.
Officials say all the tenants escaped without injuries, although a firefighter was treated for a burn on his hand. The American Red Cross and the apartment building’s owner provided food, clothing and a place to stay for tenants.
