Commercial trucks, buses and tractor-trailer rigs are getting special attention from Connecticut officials this week.
Annual safety checks are set for three days, beginning Tuesday.
The spot checks will be made along Interstate 95 and Interstate 91, as well as on Interstate 84 and Interstate 395.
The vehicles will be checked to make sure they conform with 200 safety regulations.
Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Robert Ward says this week’s inspections are part of a national campaign geared to raise awareness about the need for truck safety.
