So you are basically saying that this lawsuit is justified if they found lead paint in the apartment, correct? Did they find lead paint in the apartment? While I would agree with you to a certain extent, it doesn’t seem that anyone can prove that the landlords did this intently nor can they prove that the lead paint caused these issues(which is the whole point of the lawsuit, not the fact that the lead paint existed but that it “caused” these so-called disabilities). And before someone asks, I have a 2 year old son…so yes I do have a child. I feel sorry for the children, if they were indeed affected by this, but nobody seems to know if it is true because it all seems to be speculated. I am not saying that the landlords should get a free pass if they knew about it and did nothing, but $2.5 million dollars, that is probably more money then they will make in their entire lives, combined, even if they didn’t suffer from any disabilities.
Nice…The lead based paint was OK to sell to us initially but when we finally find out the toxic potential for injury due to exposure who do we “go after”? The Paint Manufacturer’s who sold the stuff? The government for allowing the dangerous substance to be sold as a product to be slathered all over our wall.? No…the poor joe who bought the property (usually after the lead paint has been applied) as an investment to better him/her self. Who wins…you guessed it…the lawyers! The same people who make the laws. By the way…how much is a third of $2.5 mil? Nice paycheck Mr. Atty.
