Extra holiday highway patrols ran from Friday, June 30, through Tuesday, July 4.
State police report troopers stopped 6,990 vehicles and wrote 2,200 speeding, inspection or seatbelt tickets. They also wrote 3,800 warnings.
Among those stopped were three drivers clocked at 117 mph on Interstate 95 in Hampton Falls and a motorcyclist clocked at 144 mph on I-93 in New Hampton.
