It wasn’t until the end of the article that it stated that masks for those with pre-existing lung conditions should NOT be wearing masks as masks restrict the air flow. (Critical information for the fire conditions, COVID-19 virus, and plain old-fashioned allergies).
Those with breathing problems should see if they can obtain prescription medications to help them cope with the poor air quality.
I don’t know why people on the west coast can’t find face masks — they are readily available in any major store outlet in my community from N-95s, surgical masks, and those made out of a diversity of materials and of course the ole bandanas are available in great abundance. And, since the CDC has stated that ANY cloth material will help to prevent the COVID-19 virus and smoke particulates are LARGER than the virus it would just make sense relying on CDC guidelines that ANY cloth material will help reduce smoke particulates.
Thanks to the White House Administration my community is flooded with all sorts of masks, gloves, gowns, and the local hospitals have closed their trauma COVID-19 centers months ago though they do still have COVID-19 ridged controls for entering the hospitals.
