Gov. John Hickenlooper and other state and city officials toured parts of Southern Colorado on Monday to get an update on damage from this summer’s flash flooding.

The tour covered areas hit hardest by the flooding in Colorado Springs and parts of Manitou Springs.
According to KKTV-TV, Hickenlooper and other officials stressed smart flood prevention, including mitigation efforts to try to prevent homes from getting destroyed again by flooding. They also urged people to get flood insurance.
