Let’s see here. It is legal for me to invite someone else to ride in my car. It is legal for a person to take a ride in my car. It is legal for me to ask for gas money. It is legal for the passenger to give me gas money. It is even legal for me to recruit for a car pool on Craigslist or a company bulletin board. But somehow doing this through a cell phone app is illegal. Why?
You can’t tell me who I can give rides to in my own personal car. You and your cousin Steve can’t together tell me who can ride in my car. So how is it that a bunch of voters can elect a city council, and give the council a power that the people DO NOT HAVE and somehow threaten me with lethal violence if I dare to give someone a ride in my car without their permission?
