California Governor Gives Green Light to Driverless Cars

    So, who is liable for a loss when there is no driver physically operating the vehicle? Since any collision would be the result of a failure of the technology, is that, necessarily, a failure of the insured vehicle owner?

    Should be interesting case law when it happens.

      From what I read about this, they are also calling it a “crashless” car because it is computer controlled. I just don’t see that..

    I imagine the person in the driver seat would be responsible since they would be responsible for seizing control in the event of a system failure.

    Given the rate at which my computer and telephones crash, I doubt I could trust the car to drive itself at this point.
