Here are my two cents on “Broke” Agencies… As a licensed agent, I received their direct mailings for months non stop. It would not make sense to franchise with a company that has no brand recognition and little benefit of franchising other than perhaps start-up capital. Those agents who sold their agencies completely to Broke and made money, great. Otherwise, I think the bankruptcy of this criminal organization, Brooke, who is facing RICO charges, is good for the industry. It also eliminates a lot of crappy independent agencies that carry the Brooke Agency name.. Good riddance!!!

In their unbridled thirst for more and more premium, the insurance companies that did business with Brooke knew nothing about how it operated; all they wanted was the premium.
It is easy to say goodbye to Brooke agents but their only sin was naivete and unsophistication.
Most of these agencies were incapable of getting company appointments of their own for a myriad of reasons.
Brooke was a scourge on the Independent Insurance Agency system and completly opposite of how the system works.
RICO is not nearly tough enough for these crooks. But shame on the insurance companies who did business with them!!

When all of the details come out, there will be a substantial amount of insurance which was NEVER even placed although premium was paid through a Broke Agent. The agent forwarded the money to the corporate thieves who paid corporate and personal expenses with people’s hard earned money. Wait for the ORR bros. to go to jail. Shawn Lowry, who is the nephew of uncle Bob Orr, should be heading to a prison as well. He played with people’s money and lives most of the period this joke was stealing money. They took agent’s lifelong work and stole it.
Prosecute every one of the thieves.
