This article made me smile. I’ve been in the Insurance Business since ’82 and around 1993 I had a client tell me she didn’t think this guy was on the up and up. I don’t know if I can really go into it here, but after some investigation on my part I figured he was, let’s just say, up to no good. I had the client write a letter to the Insurance Commissioner. And I contacted my District Manager and his District Manager (we worked for the same company). And guess what? These two men came to MY office and told me to keep MY mouth shut (which I didn’t) because Mr. Reinking “had a family to support” and they didn’t want someone upsetting the apple cart. It’s about time this crook got caught. I always tried to run an upstanding and honest business (I retired Jan ’07) and agents like this guy are why insurance agents get bad names. Thanks for letting me vent. Cris Pettit
Sometimes it is good to see how it all comes down… maybe you should contact the Linn County Detective & pass on the names of the Big Wigs that didn’t want the apple cart to get upset, perhaps they can shed some light onto the operations of their employee.
a most un-professional agent I have been a oregon licensed agent for 19 years and when one of Ken’s “honorary” family members hit my parked car with me in it ken refused to return my phone calls for weeks and when he did actually pick up the phone and I told him what happened he started called me every curse word in the book and then hung up on me.
See you hanging high buddy,

This is a perfect example of “not knowing the facts”. This is completely one sided at best. If you know all the details than someone may have the right to accuse, even then, we may never know the truth about someone. In this case, I know Ken Reinking and know the truth based on facts. He, himself became of a victim of insurance fraud. He thought he would do the right thing and cover up the mistakes of another agent who was writing policies under his name.
Ken Reinking is a good person who has repaid all of the liabilities and the debt his consumers endured during this time while he was an agent.
Much time has now has passed since this occurrence but I would like to clear the air for those who might be following his past and to reconsider this:
There is always 2 sides to a story
Until there is enough evidence to make a case- don’t accuse.
If someone has been accused of something terribly wrong, if they have paid the price through a jail sentencing or repayment of the debt monetarily or through community services- if they have repaid for their mistakes-
they have paid for it- it’s time to let it go.
Ken is a good person who has a great work ethic and cares for the people he works for and with.
ken is a good guy,we had our insurance with him for a few years.BUT. just before his arrest, my policy was re-written every month. When he sold out to the leduix(spelling?) agency,, they purchased everything lock, stock and barrel.Alot of things were missing, including client folders that were resold to another insurance guy.Nice guy yes, crooked all over yes.he got what he deserved
