Blue Cross has 4,459,464 enrollees in California.

The $1M fine represents 23 cents each they need to recover from each of them to pay that $1M DMHC fine.

How many people submit valid claims and get turned down for hundreds of dollars? It happens to all of us. How many millions in the pocket of Blue Cross if 23 cents = $1M?

Then Blue Cross was caught canceling policies for hundreds of thousands of dollars each. How much more profit is that?

There is NO fine the DMHC or the CA Insurance Commission that they can do that would even get Blue Cross to get upset over.

Blue Cross is a \”monster\” that controls and manipulates the market illegally and they cannot be stopped.

It would take fines of $500M to get them to change and that will not happen.

Blue Cross is a \”run a way freight train\” and cannot be stopped. They are another Enron and worse, as they are killing people by canceling policies and more. At least Enron did not cancel the policy of a 6 year old with cancer or cancel the policies of pregnanat women hoping they would miscarriage. This company is filled with white collar thieves and they are caught and life goes on.

The UNUM Market Conduct report is quite interesting. http://www20.insurance.ca.gov/cyberdocs/Libraries/DOCS_WEB/Common/frameset.asp

But their conduct regarding rescission actions pales in comparison to that of Blue Cross.

If UNUM violations were cause of $8 million fine, then can we look forward to $17 million for Blue Cross? As we speculate, I wonder if the big guys at Blue Cross are sitting down trying to work out things with the guys at the Dept of Insurance?
