Low cost insurance only for very older vehicles only !
and you had better not have a minimum wage job either
it is based out of state unacountable
you are forced to register your 20
year old vehicle in your name
what if the DMV sends out a false report
to law enforcement your vehicle is not
insured? then you lose your car to the junk yard wrongfully !! this is the same
DMV that took 6 months to replace my
stolen drivers liscense !! they will get
it wrong and have to be sued for damages

whatever it takes to get these people insured, this whole deal makes me angry, dmv needs more teeth, impound these vehicles with stiff fines & put \’em jail and make \’em pay before they get out of jail,we need a lot more facilities to store cars/people & staff to enforce law. what\’s the difference between this law & min lia limits for these drivers? they will drive until they get caught & still might not do the right thing. make them pay for a full 6 months or annual term-no monthly available, this is a bunch of b.s. until they back it up like they should!!!!!

You are making absolutely no sense. Would you care to re-write that?

I think I know what he means: \”I don\’t want to have to pay for insurance, but I want all of the rights and privileges of those who do.\”

Other states have been tracking auto cancellations for years. What took CA so long? I\’ll be curious to see if they will be able to act against these UIMs.

What kind of idiot are you? I don\’t care if your car is one day old or 100 years old… if you hit me, you\’d better have insurance! Cripes, no wonder I drive defensively!!! Merry Christmas!

I agree with Lincoln, Garamendi is on his way out and this will undoubtedly get challenged. Where are all the plaintiff\’s lawyers? Please stand up, please stand up…!

You agree with him?! He\’s saying that adults who have minimum wage jobs shouldn\’t be held to the same standards of accountability as everyone else, and that if a bureaucrat makes a mistake he\’d be inconvenienced. Hello!!!! We all live in this world. We should all subject to the same rules.

Maybe you\’d sing a different tune if he t-boned you in an intersection w/o coverage.

If, by enforcement, they take the same steps to get around to checking on & getting uninsured drivers off the road that we have had a law on the books for the last 40 years and have done nothing to put any teeth in it, don\’t expect to see a lot of improvement! Sending a notice will be frightening to absolutly no one!

I\’m right with you Santa! Too many people these days are looking for free rides. You have to work hard, don\’t have kids you can\’t afford and pay your own freaken way for once – including your insurance.
