I just finished a conference call on the proposed new labor code 4616 et seq. I am suggesting as strongly as I can that you bring in some attorneys and claims professionals who have to deal with this stuff on a daily basis. What sounds good on paper usually turns out not to be so good in practice and if reviewed in that light before it becomes law, might help craft something that really works.
As to the proposed 4616, you already have the mechanism in place in the HCO legisation 4600.3. You would only need to take out the enrollment criteria and the 90/180 days control making it a cradle to grave control. All other elements such as controlled managed care and Utiliztion Review are already in place.
I will be happy to discuss this with the good senator at the Friday luncheon if he wishes.
