Florida Speed Limit on Interstate Highways May Increase to 75 MPH

    Good move! Rural interstates accounted for about 1% of Florida’s traffic deaths in 2012. As the Federal Highway Administration notes: “The Interstate System actually has the best safety record of all roads and the lowest fatality rate per mile traveled… The speeding fatality rate for local roads is three times that for Interstates.” Enforcement should be focused on risky behavior and locations, not where it’s simply convenient to issue tickets.
