Police say a North Carolina teenager has died of injuries he sustained after falling from a fourth-floor dormitory window at a Connecticut university.
West Haven police say 19-year-old Samuel Milano of Cary, N.C., died of his injuries at a local hospital after the incident at the University of New Haven’s Sheffield Hall on Saturday night.
The New Haven Register reports he was a sophomore studying criminal justice.
Other students told the newspaper that they heard yelling and saw blood on his face while he stood at the window, and police are investigating witnesses’ reports that he might have pulled off the screen and jumped.
The university is providing counseling to students in the wake of Milano’s death, and the investigation remained open Sunday.
