The family and their attorney should be ashamed for their greedy, ghoulish behavior. The old pus bag was in the ground for SEVEN YEARS and they dug her up to inspect fire damage that happened after she was dead? Why? Oh I forgot; it wasn’t about the money. I think Reed’s comments are on point. Things must be really bad in southern KY to have to resort to this to make a quick buck.
They probably were worrying themselves sick about Mama…I’m assuming pain and suffering. It must have been terrible staying awake nights looking for someone to sue.
After an extensive Google search, it’s apparent that IJ just did a cut-n-paste on reporting this story, because it’s the same verbatim on every single news site I could find. They all pulled the story from the Associated Press, bare bones and all.
I did come across an interesting tidbit on one of the sites: the fire was an arson that was set by the funeral home owner’s daughter; he himself was injured in the fire and in the hospital, thus Mr. Cletus Sivils took it upon himself to arrange for a closed-casket funeral. There were two other caskets and decedents’ remains damaged in the fire as well, hence the final line in the story about a second lawsuit pending. I wasn’t able to find out further details, as the site cut off the rest as not available to non-subscribers.
I would never, ever, even think of distubing my loved ones resting site just to check to see if the Body had fire damage… thats … just so wrong *shakes head sadly* What people will do for money…
