Here in Hernando County, sign twilers work their trade at busy intersections advertising sink hole “experts” (read Public Adjusters).

I get a flyer stuck in my front screen door about once a month.

Got a crack in your driveway? Obvious answer = Sinkhole. Its a great racket down her in the Sunshine state.

Hopefully the public adjuster joy ride is just about over. Just takes Citizens to lose $97M for the OIR to look into the problem.

Probably none of you, as well as most of the insurance industry, are fully aware of the extensive and meticulous testing that has to be performed, in order to certify that a sinkhole claim is a valid claim, in Florida. Just because you are prejudiced against Public Adjusters, that does not mean that the sinkholes are somehow “invented” by the “powerful, almighty Public Adjuster”. NO, it does not work that way! Engineers have to do extensive testing, and confirm any alleged sinkhole, before a claim can be validated a a true sinkhole claim.

There are a few bad apples out there that give the majority of us a bad name, in every profession (agents, attorneys, police officers, insurance adjusters, Public Adjusters, etc., etc.). But that does not mean that ALL (agents, attorneys, police officers, insurance adjusters, Public Adjusters, etc., etc.) are bad. So consider the possibility (as impossible as you may think it may be) that proven sinkhole activity can exist outside of your pre-determined “sinkhole alley”. Let’s stop the blame game, and let’s keep our minds, and our eyes, open for new challeneges we may encounter in our professions. “What goes around, comes around”. We all have to work together to weed out the bad apples in ALL professions. If we just continue “bad mouthing” each other, nothing positive will come out of that.
