Will be interesting to see if the court has the balls to impose a well-deserved, severe penalty on this 16 year old punk. He was “driving” a Chevy Cobalt (4cyl. piece of crap) at 100mph in a 45MPH zone. His passengers were ages 14-15. The decedent was ejected from the back seat. Alcohol wasn’t a factor. It’s obvious he was trying to be cool by speeding. He should do some jail time but the best punishement would be dis-qualification for a license until he’s 21. Let him think about the price of being an _sshole.
I couldn’t agree more. The parents should be proud of themselves for turning this delinquent loose with a car by himself. If they’re insured at all they probably have minimum liability limits. Must have just gotten his license and was already out trying to impress his 14-15 year old friends. Where were their parents? Why would they allow their kids to drive with a new driver at 10:00pm at night?
Another piece of technical ******** from our badly flawed legal system. The Alford plea is not the same as a guilty plea. It’s a legal “squirm” that says the defendant admits there is sufficient evidence against him that a prosecutor would probably succeed in proving him guilty. This little creep doesn’t deserve any consideration. He knowingly drove recklessly and should be taught a severe lesson for his stupidity.
